Prayer for scientists and innovators

Bless our scientists and innovators God to innovate and invent things which are useful to humankind. We need discoveries and inventions which can give drinking water, electricity and housing to many at a cheap cost. Yet we sometimes only concentrate on inventing items of destruction.
Help us to stand for life Jesus whereby we concentrate on how to save lives than taking it. We have been able to go to the moon and do the unimaginable and yet we can't do simple things which have an important bearing on the everyday lives of people. Push us to make a turn around Jesus.

Lead us properly Holy Spirit so that we always think of innovations which can help people to grow and live a life of quality. When evil overcomes our mind help us by warming the fire of the spirit of God inside us. We submit all our innovative inventions to the glory of God and for the people of God. Amen.

Prayer to overcome selfish goals

We pray God for individuals who have lost their way in their pursuit of individual glory. In the process they have lost sight of family goals. We submit husbands and men who are not giving enough to their wife or partner and wives and women who don't have time for their husband or partner. We also submit parents who neglect their children and children who neglect their parents.
Jesus, you came from heaven to earth to live for us and yet you submitted yourself to a family. It wasn't the most perfect and yet you lived in it with happiness taking care of your earthly parents as they took care of you. Teach us to give our all for our family in the way we define it.

Holy Spirit, help us to make goals with our families so that our individual success can be experienced and celebrated together with them. Make it known to us that anything else is not worth the effort as any success with no one to celebrate it with is no success at all. We pray for all our families and everyone who belongs to it. Amen.

Prayer for sports competitions

We thank you God for the gift of sport. It is indeed a wonderful way to forge friendships and for weeding away youngsters from bad habits. But it also leads to enmity and unwanted competition.
We pray Jesus that the football world cup leads to people coming together in harmony and love. May games lead to countries and people understanding one another rather than only playing out their rivalry on the field. Lead teams well to play fairly and enjoy the game and the atmosphere instead of playing to win at any cost.

Guide us well Holy Spirit so that we don't sacrifice friendships for the sake of team support. May this world cup experience help us to introduce sport into our religious spaces so that our youngsters choose health over non healthy and destructing habits. May we see the goodness in sport as something which can lead to a stronger spirituality. Amen.

Prayer for those who are sick

We pray God for all those who are sick. There is nothing to worry about other than treating the sickness with our best foot forward. We all have our time to go from this world to a better place and so let every minute lived on earth be special and filled with wonderful memories.
Jesus, you have assured us eternal life. Teach us well that there is nothing to be scared of. Every person suffering of an ailment will never be isolated and unattended by God. We pray that we never forget this promise of your's Jesus.
Holy Spirit, may we concentrate more on our being and spirit rather than being concerned about our body. Every imperfection of our body is a perfection of our soul. Make us believe this and be healed of any negative thoughts that try to conquer our mind. Bless us glorious trinity. Amen.
