Prayer to overcome selfish goals

We pray God for individuals who have lost their way in their pursuit of individual glory. In the process they have lost sight of family goals. We submit husbands and men who are not giving enough to their wife or partner and wives and women who don't have time for their husband or partner. We also submit parents who neglect their children and children who neglect their parents.
Jesus, you came from heaven to earth to live for us and yet you submitted yourself to a family. It wasn't the most perfect and yet you lived in it with happiness taking care of your earthly parents as they took care of you. Teach us to give our all for our family in the way we define it.

Holy Spirit, help us to make goals with our families so that our individual success can be experienced and celebrated together with them. Make it known to us that anything else is not worth the effort as any success with no one to celebrate it with is no success at all. We pray for all our families and everyone who belongs to it. Amen.
